A representative mixed football team, the Waitak Warriors from the ISC, proudly represented Waitākere College at the Special Olympics Interschool Football Tournament, which was held over four weeks.
The team consisted of Anna-Maria, Dakota, Tobi, Koata, Jeremiah, William, Dylan, Dominik, Robby, Compton, and Chance. Throughout the tournament, the players worked hard to develop their defensive and attacking strategies, showing excellent teamwork, determination, and commitment.
The Waitak Warriors were outstanding throughout the competition, winning each of their matches against opponents from Rutherford and Henderson. Their hard work and dedication paid off when they faced Henderson in the grand final on Thursday and secured an impressive 9–0 victory to become tournament champions.
A huge congratulations to the entire team for the courage, sportsmanship, and amazing football skills they displayed throughout the tournament. You represented Waitākere College with pride and demonstrated what can be achieved through teamwork and perseverance.
