Our second week began with a special milestone: the ceremonial blessing of our two new flagpoles.

Students from our Rumaki and Service Academy led the college in raising both the New Zealand National Flag and the Tino Rangatiritanga flag. Rumaki students offered a karakia for each flag, followed by a powerful combined haka from both groups.

Having two flagpoles allows our college to visually honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi within our school and wider community. Moving forward, these flags will welcome visitors daily, while also giving us the opportunity to fly flags for other national cultural celebrations and language weeks throughout the year.
