Last week, Kitei Teoni and Sam Gubb successfully attended and completed the intensive weeklong Services Academy Advanced Leadership Course, held at the RNZAF Base Auckland (Whenuapai). The course is specifically designed to challenge students by placing them in demanding leadership scenarios that require them to confidently plan, organise, and lead complex team tasks under pressure.
Throughout the week, participants engaged in a variety of practical exercises, group discussions, and leadership simulations, all aimed at enhancing their communication, decision-making, and motivational skills. Both Kitei and Sam demonstrated exceptional commitment and adaptability, earning praise from course instructors for their positive attitude and willingness to step up in challenging moments. Having gained a deeper understanding of key leadership principles, they are now eager to apply their newly developed skills within the Services Academy and beyond, serving as role models for their peers and aspiring to future leadership opportunities.
