Beats by Bingo Event Raises Raises Almost $11,000 for Waitākere College Students!

The Jackson Auditorium was buzzing last Friday night as the Waitākere College Foundation (WCF) hosted its 3rd annual Beats by Bingo fundraiser. Bringing together staff, parents & caregivers, alumni, local businesses, and community members, the sold-out evening delivered massive energy, friendly competition, and extraordinary generosity.

Thanks to an enthusiastic crowd and the support of key sponsors, the event raised close to $11,000 on the night!

Every dollar raised directly fuels the Waitākere College Foundation's core mission: breaking down financial barriers so that every student can fully participate in school life and achieve their potential.
The funds raised from Friday night will support:

  • Essential Needs: Providing school uniforms, stationery, and Chromebooks for families requiring extra assistance.
  • Equal Participation: Funding camp fees, sports equipment, and extracurricular activities so no student misses out.
  • Future Pathways: Last year, the foundation provided $20,000 in academic and trade scholarships for school leavers.

An achievement like this is only possible through community spirit. The Waitākere College Foundation extends a huge thank you to:

The staff and students, including the Services Academy, who helped set up on the day and volunteered in the evening.

Our amazing MCs for the night, Jordan and Steven.
Our Community & Whānau: Everyone who bought a ticket, brought their friends, and filled the hall with energy.
Our Generous Sponsors & Local Businesses: For donating auction items and their generous cash sponsorship to make the event possible.

With three successful events now under our belt, Beats by Bingo has officially become a staple highlight on our annual calendar. Keep an eye on the Waitākere College News page and WCF Website for updates on upcoming events and ongoing initiatives!
