Last Thursday, 3 September, our Year 13 Building Academy students enjoyed a BBQ with the team from Unitec, who came along to recognise the hard work and dedication the Building Academy students have shown throughout the year.
It was great to celebrate what they have been learning and the progress they have made. Rueben Sigglekow from Unitec, alongside Mr Tepania, has been supporting the boys, developing their building skills and industry knowledge as they all work together on our new Fale addition. The project is well underway, with the boys now around three-quarters of the way to completion.
Four outstanding students were acknowledged.
Grayson Stuart
Awarded the Top Performing Student. Recognised for his outstanding commitment to learning. Grayson has shown a strong approach to his work and learning throughout the year, and this award was well deserved.
Devin Long
Recognised for 100% attendance, showing real consistency and commitment to the Year 13 Building team.
Connor Dittmar
Acknowledged for his dedication and commitment to learning, developing strong skills and demonstrating a genuine interest in the programme.
Jordan Kern
Recognised for 100% attendance. Jordan has since left school after being offered a traineeship, a great next step for him!
A special mention also went to Alpha Oneata for his outstanding work ethic, fast learning, positive approach to learning and willingness to get on with the work.
It was a really positive way to recognise all the effort that has gone into the Building Academy. We are proud of all our Building Students and wish them every success as they take their next steps!
