Earlier this week, our Director of Sport Liam Mulrooney and Sports Coordinator Paul McGrath travelled to Wellington to represent our school at the annual NZ Secondary School Sports Conference held on Monday and Tuesday. Joining sports directors and leaders from across New Zealand, the conference provided a valuable opportunity to explore the future of school sport, share best practices and bring fresh actionable strategies back to the college.
Key takeaways included gaining an understanding of how AI can help within a sports programme, how to build consistency and support for coaches, streamlining communication, exploring real world programmes in practice, as well as ideas around governance, while having the opportunity to network with sports leaders from around the country.
A big thank you to Mr Shanahan and Miss Fugmann for allowing some of our key sports staff to attend the conference, reinforcing the school's commitment to delivering a well structured, supportive and inspiring sports program for our students.
