AmeriCamp USA Presented to Year 13 Students

Year 13 students were given an exciting glimpse into post-school global opportunities today during a special assembly visit from International Working Holidays (IWH).

The presentation introduced students to the AmeriCamp program, an initiative that enables young New Zealanders to spend 8 to 10 weeks working at a US summer camp during the Kiwi winter. The program offers school leavers a structured way to earn money, travel, and build essential life skills—including leadership, communication, independence, and teamwork—all supported by a full 24/7 assistance network in the United States.

Hannah, Growth Manager at IWH, noted that nearly every member of the IWH team has completed the AmeriCamp experience themselves and attests to its life-changing impact.

A Trusted Tradition in Overseas Placement

While AmeriCamp operates as a fresh brand name in the market, the team behind it brings 24 years of experience. The founders of IWH originally launched the "Camp America" program in New Zealand before transitioning to operate under the AmeriCamp banner, maintaining their long-standing relationships with summer camps across the USA.

IWH remains the only New Zealand-based organisation with a fully staffed Auckland office dedicated to sending Kiwis abroad on this program, offering competitive camp pay and affordable participation fees.
