Celebrating athlete representation and excellence at the regional level, Waitākere College honours five outstanding students who earned prestigious selections for Auckland rugby teams this season.

Dahil Ese, Sione Manu and Alex Apelu were selected for the Auckland Divisional U18 Boys team. Although the team did not secure a win, they faced strong opposition from Auckland 1A, North Harbour, Counties Manukau, Waikato and Northland, providing our senior boys with valuable exposure to high-level rugby. Earning selection at this level is no easy feat, and we congratulate them on this outstanding achievement.

Saane Manu was selected for the Auckland U16 Girls team for the second consecutive year. The team went on to win the competition, making this an exceptional achievement for Saane!

Itangia Taulia also earned selection in the Auckland U16 Boys team. While results did not go the Westies’ way this season, representing Auckland is an achievement worth celebrating.

We are incredibly proud of these athletes for their hard work, commitment and dedication to rugby. Congratulations to all five students for representing Waitākere College with pride and earning these representative honours.
